Saquon Barkley has message for his haters

Saquon Barkley put up a big season as a rookie for the New York Giants in 2018 but has since mostly fallen off the map.

Barkley dealt with an ankle sprain that cost him time in his second season. Then in 2020, he suffered a torn ACL in Week 2. He’s played in 44 games in four seasons and hasn’t come close to matching his rookie season.

But Saquon knows he will get back to that point, and he has a message for his haters.

Barkley said during an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday that he wants those who have questioned him to continue doing so.

“You can say what you want about me … but when things turn around, I can see how everyone shifted to the other side. And make sure you stick to the other side.”

Barkley has dealt with injuries and some shaky quarterback situations. Maybe next season, two years removed from his torn ACL, and with more stability at quarterback for the Giants, he’ll get closer to being the player he was. The Giants sure are hoping so. And then Barkley will be able to have his moment to throw it back in the faces of his haters.
