Report: Giovani Bernard has torn ACL
The Cincinnati Bengals received more confirmation on Sunday that this really just is not their year.
In addition to losing star wide receiver A.J. Green to a torn hamstring, running back Giovani Bernard tore the ACL in his left knee against Buffalo, according to reports.
Both USA Today’s Tom Pelissero and NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said Bernard has a torn ACL.
Bernard was hurt late in the loss to the Bills. He had seven carries for 21 yards and 5 receptions for 40 yards.
The injury will put the versatile back’s status for next season in jeopardy, as torn ACLs can take around a year to recover from.
