Jack Del Rio says there are no issues between him and Andy Reid despite some speculating to the contrary based on a postgame photo.
Pro Football Talk described Del Rio as giving Reid an “icy glare” after the postgame handshake between the two men on Thursday (actually a postgame pat from Reid). The Kansas City Chiefs coach was asked on Friday if there was an issue between the two AFC West head coaches and said no.
“Not at all,” Reid told reporters on Friday, via PFT. “Jack and I are actually good friends, and I know people don’t like to hear that ’cause it’s the Raiders, but not at all. I know the picture – when we were leaving — I just patted him on the shoulder after we shook hands. There was nothing there, no.”
Some thought that Reid may have had some issues with Del Rio after the Raiders coach described the Chiefs as having a “gimmicky” offense. But both coaches say there are no problems between them.
Take a look at what Del Rio tweeted Friday:
Nothing personal between us. Andy is a good man and good coach. They earned a hard fought victory last night. On to next… go Raiders https://t.co/tizeNK3UBJ

So there you have it: the is nothing going on between the coaches. And Reid sure has the upper hand this year as his Chiefs have beaten the Raiders twice this season, allowing just 23 points to them. They also have the tiebreak in the division thanks to their 2-0 head-to-head record.
