Jalen Ramsey visiting with back specialist at Jaguars’ request
Jalen Ramsey has sat out the last two weeks after not missing a game in his previous three-plus years in the NFL, and the Jacksonville Jaguars want a doctor to take a closer look at what is ailing him.
Ramsey was in Houston on Monday visiting with a back specialist at the request of the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Ramsey has missed the last two games and not practiced after complaining about a back issue, so the team wants to get an outside opinion on it.
#Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey is in Houston this morning to see a back specialist, at the request of the team, for the injury that has kept him out the last two games. The Jags have not considered trade offers over the last week or so, but Ramsey’s request still stands.

As Rapoport noted, Ramsey still wants to be traded. The Jaguars are reportedly holding strong in not fulfilling his request, so there has been some speculation about whether he could play through the back injury but is trying to send a message to the team. The situation has clearly gotten complicated, as head coach Doug Marrone initially claimed to know nothing about the injury or when Ramsey might have suffered it.
Jaguars owner Shad Khad is said to be a huge fan of Ramsey’s and wants to sign the All-Pro cornerback to an extension, which is probably why the team has already turned down at least one respectable offer for him. Ramsey could still be traded before the Oct. 29 deadline, but the back injury won’t help matters if it is significant.
