Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison is set to meet with NFL investigators for an interview as part of the Al-Jazeera probe on Thursday, but he’s not toning down his rhetoric before then.
Harrison, who has been a vocal critic of the NFL’s investigation into the allegations, didn’t back down on Wednesday, calling the interview a “waste of time,” according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“They are going to clear my name and give me the same sendoff they gave [retired quarterback] Peyton Manning,” Harrison said. “I’m going to be cleared. They are going to give me the same thing, flash, across the bulletin board, NFL, Instagram, Twitter, all that — ‘James Harrison cleared.’

“I’m not anxious, man. It’s a stupid thing I gotta do to continue doing what it is I want to do and trying to get to where we want to be, and that’s holding a Lombardi [trophy]. Me sitting out or having to sit out a season is not it.”
Harrison called commissioner Roger Goodell a “crook” recently, so it’s fair to say he thinks the sideshow is ridiculous. You can bet he’ll have more to say after Thursday’s interview.
