Jay Cutler says he is fully retired, expects ‘some regret’
Jay Cutler is officially retired — though he thinks he might regret that come NFL season.
Cutler appeared on ESPN 1000’s Waddle & Silvy on Friday, confirming that his retirement decision is final — though not necessarily without regrets.
QB Jay Cutler tells @WaddleandSilvy his move to the FOX booth is "permanent." Adds: "Zero doubt in my mind there's going to be some regret."

Cutler tells @WaddleandSilvy he does plan to file retirement papers, but admits he doesn’t really know what that means.

Cutler had somewhat hedged on using the word “retirement” in earlier comments, but he’s making clear here that his playing career is finished. It’s interesting that he admits he’ll have regrets — you can understand why he’d feel that he didn’t quite accomplish everything he’d hoped to in his NFL career that he had hoped to do.
