Jay Cutler reportedly pushing to play in Week 3
If Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler gets his way, he’ll be out there under center against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.
According to a report by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports on Thursday, Cutler, who is dealing with a sprain to his throwing thumb, is pushing to play on Sunday and is politicking coaches in an effort to suit up.
Jay Cutler, under some duress in Chicago, is pushing to play. Politicking coaches. Getting treatment on thumb. Probably a stretch he goes…

Cutler, 33, hurt the thumb in a 29-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. He was given a recovery timetable of 2-3 weeks.
The ex-Pro Bowler has been facing a new wave of criticism with the Bears off to an 0-2 start that has seen Cutler throw for just one touchdown to go along with two interceptions.
Perhaps he’s still haunted by the ghosts of the NFC Championship Game some five-and-a-half years ago and wants to flip the narrative. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that Cutler is actually cleared to play against Dallas, so Brian Hoyer vs. Dak Prescott will probably be our QB matchup on Sunday night.
