A downside to appearing on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” is the fact that your mother can watch, and she can hear everything you say.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher found that out the hard way when his own mother called him to have a word with him over some unsavory language he used during last week’s episode.
“I got one of these yesterday, ‘Jeffrey!'” Fisher said Thursday, via Steve Dilbeck of ESPN. “This is from Mom. So I said, ‘Sorry, Mom. That’s our world. I’ll try to do better.'”
“When I hear ‘Jeffrey!’ It’s uh-oh. Something went wrong.”
Fisher was captured on film calling out his team for their attitude, sprinkled with profanity.
“Little things are important, you follow me?” Fisher told his team. “I am not f—ing going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7, OK? Or 10-6 for that matter. This team is too talented. I am not going to settle for that, OK? I know what I am doing. We had some 7-9 bulls— this morning. Now, Deon’s gone. That is 7-9 bulls—. We don’t need it.”
Will Fisher clean it up? Well, probably not, particularly if Rams players continue to do things like this to test his patience.
