The New York Jets needed all the help they could get to try to claim their first win on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. The game’s officials didn’t get the memo.
The Jets got hosed by one of the softest offensive pass interference calls of the season to close the third quarter of the Week 4 contest at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. The road team trailed 24-13 with just seconds remaining in the period.
Facing 1st-and-10 at the Dolphins’ 18, Garrett Wilson made an incredible diving catch in the end zone. The highlight play was wiped away by an offensive pass interference call against Wilson, who was penalized for a light push on Miami cornerback Jack Jones.

Instead of potentially trimming the deficit to three via a two-point conversion, the Jets later had to settle for a field goal.
Wilson one-upped himself late in the game with a ridiculous contested grab at virtually the same spot as the first one.

The TD catch got the Jets to within six after they successfully went for two. But with under two minutes left at that point, New York ran out of time in the 27-21 loss.
Neither the Jets nor the Dolphins came away feeling good after their Monday night clash. While Miami got its first win this season, it came at the expense of losing Tyreek Hill to a horrific knee injury.
