New Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady is already backing off a bit regarding a comment he jokingly made about Josh Allen.
In an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week, Brady discussed how much he was looking forward to being promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach and taking over responsibility for the entire team. That means being more antagonistic than previously, and he joked about how he “can’t wait for our first practice and Josh Allen to throw a f—ing pick and I get to celebrate with the defense.”
In an appearance on the “Fitz & Whit” podcast, Brady backed off a little.
“I regretted that,” Brady joked. “I want to celebrate with the defense and the only way I can celebrate with the defense if James Cook fumbles or Josh throws a pick. As soon as I said it, I was like, I’m going to be pissed off. It’s going to be one of those where I’m celebrating then I’m coming back and it’s like, yo, what are we doing? I’ll take it back.”
"I regret that … As soon as I said that I was like, 'I'm gonna be pissed off.'"

Brady is, of course, having fun with whatever “controversy” there is here. He knows Allen well, but the quarterback union jokingly had some words for him.
Brady is in an unusual spot, having been promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach. He is also following in the footsteps of Sean McDermott and his eight playoff appearances, so expectations will be high. It sounds like he knows it, too.
