Joe Namath wants Jets to bench Ryan Fitzpatrick, play Bryce Petty
New York Jets legend Joe Namath has had some strong feelings about the team’s quarterback situation this season, the latest of which have to do with moving on from Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick was not very effective early on in New York’s game against the lowly Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and Broadway Joe was disgusted with what he saw in the first half. So disgusted, in fact, that he called for Fitzpatrick to be benched.
Who thinks we should see Bryce Petty start the 2nd half? I know I do. It hurts to say this, but we're not goin anywhere with Fitzpatrick.

The Jets stuck with Fitzpatrick, of course, but you have to wonder if Namath will get his wish if they continue to struggle. Making the playoffs is essentially out of the question at this point, and Fitzpatrick is only signed through the end of the season.
Namath ended up with egg on his face last week when he sent this tweet about Geno Smith’s knee injury, but that mistake isn’t stopping him from criticizing the Jets.
