Josh Allen is receiving a cool honor from Wyoming.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback is being inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame (UW Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame) on Friday. As if that’s not enough, he is also getting his jersey retired by Wyoming. Allen will return to Laramie for the Cowboys’ game against Nevada on Nov. 22 to celebrate having his jersey retired during a halftime ceremony.

“To have the support that I do in Wyoming, it’s really unbelievable,” Allen said in a conference call this week. “This will be my first time back to Laramie since Pro Day (in 2018), so hopefully I get to see a lot of No. 17 jerseys and some Bills jerseys in the stands. It’s going to be a special night. It’s always fun, sometimes you see those maps of where games are being played or who fans are rooting for and you look at Wyoming and it’s (Bills’) blue, not orange. It’s an honor to have that support that I do.”

Allen played at Wyoming from 2015-2017. He passed for 3,203 yards, 28 touchdowns and 15 interceptions as a sophomore in 2016. He also rushed for 523 yards and 7 touchdowns that season. The following year, he passed for 1,812 yards, 16 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He rushed for 204 yards and 5 touchdowns that year. Wyoming went 16-11 in Allen’s two seasons as the team’s starting quarterback.

Allen went on to become the No. 7 overall pick by the Bills in 2018. He has made three Pro Bowls and is the reigning NFL MVP.
