Josh McCown got zinged by his daughter after Darnold pick

The New York Jets drafted Sam Darnold No. 3 overall on Thursday, and Josh McCown didn’t exactly get the greatest welcome of the team’s newest member.

McCown, who turns 39 in July, received a text message from his older daughter that put his age in perspective. McCown posted a screenshot of the text:

“He’s less than a year older than me,” McCown’s daughter said of Darnold.

Darnold will turn 21 in June. When people crack jokes and say that McCown could be Darnold’s father, they’re dead on.

Now we’ll get to see how long McCown hangs on to the Jets’ starting quarterback job before Darnold takes over.
