Kareem Hunt pulled over for speeding; marijuana found in car

Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt has to watch his step very carefully given his history of off-field trouble. At the very least, it sounds like the Cleveland Browns running back failed to do that when he was pulled over for speeding this week.

Hunt was stopped by a police officer in Rocky River, Ohio, on Tuesday afternoon, and a report from the incident stated that “small amounts of marijuana” were found in multiple locations in the vehicle. Hunt was issued a citation for a traffic violation but not the marijuana.

Considering Hunt wasn’t arrested or even cited for the marijuana, the traffic stop sounds like a very minor deal. However, it will create more negative headlines for a player whose career has nearly been derailed by them.

Hunt was suspended for the first half of the 2019 season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. The 24-year-old was seen on video shoving and a kicking a woman at a Cleveland hotel in February 2018. He was with the Kansas City Chiefs at the time, who promptly released him.

The Browns say they are aware of the latest incident involving Hunt. It seems unlikely that the traffic stop will result in any disciplinary action, but the team probably will not be thrilled.
