The Carolina Panthers are hoping their passing offense gets a major boost with the return of Kelvin Benjamin this year, but the star wide receiver has some work to do in the conditioning department first.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told reporters on Sunday that Benjamin has been getting winded after running deep routes. ESPN’s David Newton shared a photo of Benjamin on a knee catching his breath during practice.

Benjamin, of course, missed the entire 2015 season after suffering a nasty knee injury (video here) during training camp last summer. As a rookie in 2014, Benjamin eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark and hauled in nine touchdown receptions. The Panthers need him up to speed when the regular season begins.
