Kirk Cousins may get more input in Vikings’ offense
With their playoff fate hanging in the balance, the Minnesota Vikings are reassessing all aspects of their team, including the offense.
The Vikings fired offensive coordinator John DeFilippo on Tuesday, replacing him with Kevin Stefanski. Head coach Mike Zimmer says this could lead to more input from quarterback Kirk Cousins, who has been a disappointment after signing a big free agent contract during the offseason.
Mike Zimmer said he thinks Kirk Cousins may feel more freedom “suggesting things a little more” to new OC Kevin Stefanski.

The Vikings are 17th in offensive yardage and 20th in points, so something had to change. Cousins has had a solid season statistically, but they haven’t really translated into consistent results. Perhaps this change, coupled with more input, will be what the quarterback needs.
