Kyler Murray offers lame explanation for his Instagram stunt
Kyler Murray clearly intended to express frustration with the Arizona Cardinals when he randomly scrubbed his Instagram account earlier this offseason, but the star quarterback does not want to own it.
Murray attended an event on Thursday in which he made a generous donation to the Arizona Educational Foundation. He also fielded some questions from the media. Naturally, Murray was asked about the tension between him and the Cardinals. He said he is “not too worried” about his future with the team. The former first overall pick was also asked if he was sending a message to the Cardinals when he deleted every reference to the team from his Instagram profile. He said that was not the case.
You can see Murray’s full response at around the 1-minute mark below:

“I took everything off besides one picture,” Murray said. “It had nothing to do with the Cardinals or anything like that.”
There’s no way that’s true. Not long after Murray pulled his Instagram stunt, his agent confirmed that Murray is seeking a new contract. Murray probably didn’t like the unflattering reports that began trickling out about him. There was some talk that he regretted going public with his discontent.
Murray is eligible for a contract extension for the first time this offseason. His agent seemingly took a shot at the Cardinals recently. Obviously, all is not well between the two sides.
