Lamar Jackson blames unusual factor for Ravens’ loss

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was left frustrated once again by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11, and suggested that his team only had itself to blame for their loss.

The Steelers outlasted the Ravens 18-16 Sunday at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa., winning despite not scoring a touchdown. While Baltimore outgained the Steelers 329-303, that still marked a season low for Baltimore’s offense, and the team committed 12 penalties and three turnovers in the losing effort.

Jackson voiced his frustration with the mistakes after the game, and suggested that the Ravens might have been too amped up for the contest.

Jackson said the Ravens, if anything, were “too hyped.”

This is definitely cause for concern for the Ravens, who seemingly cannot get over the hump in their biggest games. He has openly said in the past that he is “stressing” to win a Super Bowl, but the team keeps suffering early exits in the playoffs. Obviously, this was not a playoff game, but it was against one of their biggest rivals in the Steelers. Making matters worse is the fact that the Steelers have now beaten Baltimore in seven of their last eight meetings.

The Ravens are still 7-4 and in good position to make the playoffs, though the Steelers top the AFC North at 8-2. The biggest takeaway might be that the Ravens really need to find a way to chill out in situations like this if Jackson is correct.
