Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy must have some sort of personal issue with Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno. On Sunday, McCoy took the opportunity to use a tweet from ESPN’s Skip Bayless to point out that he believes Moreno “sucks.” To most, the tweet seemed completely uncalled for. Moreno seemed to agree, and he fired back at Shady after the Denver Broncos’ victory.
McCoy’s tweet was the type we have grown accustomed to seeing players backpedal after sending. Instead, McCoy poked fun at himself on Wednesday when he began his press conference by praising Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin with a smile on his face.
“I just want to say I think Doug Martin is a heck of a running back,” he told reporters, via Shutdown Corner. “He’s one of the better backs in the NFL, for sure.”
Since McCoy was kind enough to bring up the topic, a reporter asked him what he thinks of Moreno.
“I don’t want to talk about the past,” McCoy said. “It is what it is. What I said is what I meant.”
He was then asked if he regrets sending the tweet.
“No,” he said convincingly. “I don’t regret it.”
Even if McCoy does believe Moreno sucks, you would think he’d apologize or say he should not have sent the tweet. It’s not like the Eagles were even paying the Broncos, so the criticism was totally random. That’s why I’m inclined to think there’s a specific reason he doesn’t care for Moreno. Then again, McCoy has been known to use his Twitter account for very stupid things.
