Le’Veon Bell makes clear he wants to stay with Jets

LeVeon Bell

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Le’Veon Bell’s future with the New York Jets, but the running back knows where he wants to be.

Bell said Friday that he has every intention — and hope — of seeing out the four-year contract he signed prior to the season.

“I wouldn’t have signed here for four years if I didn’t want to be here four years,” Bell said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Ultimately, that decision may not be up to Bell. Reports indicate that the team is willing to trade him after the season. Part of that may be that he just hasn’t been as good in New York as he was in Pittsburgh. There’s also the rumor that coach Adam Gase never wanted him in the first place, chatter that Gase never did a good job refuting.

Bell ran for 748 yards this season while racking up 425 yards receiving. Only his 2015 season, in which he only played six games, was worse statistically.
