Cleveland Browns fans were understandably disgusted with their team’s performance in the season opener on Sunday, but at least one of them had a classless way of showing it.
After Malcolm Butler intercepted a Baker Mayfield pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the Tennessee Titans a 43-13 game late in the fourth quarter, a fan sitting in the front row behind the end zone showered Logan Ryan and others in beer. Ryan took to Twitter on Monday to call upon the NFL to do something about it.
They can pour beer on us because we’re just athletes right? We’re just entertainment & since they purchased a ticket they can act how they want? @NFL @NFLPA @Browns @Titans https://t.co/fpCfEOhC1V

While players always take a risk by leaping into the stands in an opposing stadium, there’s no place for that. We saw a similar situation last year when a New England Patriots fan showered Tyreek Hill in beer and flipped him the middle finger, and that fan ended up being banned from games for life. It would not be a surprise if the Browns did the same to the fan who dumped beer on Ryan and some Titans players.
