Martellus Bennett reportedly interested in coming out of retirement to join brother on Patriots
Martellus Bennett’s positive reaction to news of his brother’s trade to the New England Patriots was no coincidence.
Shortly after word of Michael Bennett’s trade to the Patriots was reported, Martellus tweeted some eyeballs to show he had taken notice.
Not long thereafter, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said Martellus is interested in coming out of retirement to play with his brother on the Patriots.
Michael and Martellus Bennett always have wanted to play together. Now that the Patriots are trading for Michael, Martellus is interested in coming out of retirement to join his brother in New England, per a source. Then would be the McCourty and Bennett Bros. in New England.

Bennett retired from the NFL last year after the Patriots released him.
Bennett was claimed by the Patriots in 2017 after the tight end was waived by the Packers for failing to disclose an injury. He tried to play through a torn rotator cuff but ended up on IR anyway after playing in just two games for New England.
Bennett spent the 2016 season with the Patriots and had 55 catches for 701 yards and 7 touchdowns.
