Matt Ryan traded to Colts from Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons were unable to convince Deshaun Watson to join them last week, but they are still going to have a new starting quarterback in 2022.

Matt Ryan has been traded from the Falcons to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a third-round draft pick, according to multiple reports.

Ryan will be Indy’s third different starting quarterback in three seasons. They quickly moved on from Carson Wentz after his lone season with the team, recently trading him to the Washington Commanders.

While Ryan will turn 37 before the start of next season, he should be a significant upgrade over Wentz. Ryan threw for 3,968 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last year.

The Falcons may already have a replacement in mind for Wentz:
