NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice confronted a spectator who heckled him during the American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada. While teeing off, Rice delivered his shot and immediately heard a fan mockingly yell “Fore!” in response to the play.
The 63-year-old legend turned toward the gallery and shouted “Hey!” before asking “Which one? Which one?” as he ducked under the ropes, club in hand, and charged into the crowd with speed reminiscent of his playing days. A fan appeared to identify the culprit, and Rice closed the distance to address the group directly.
Video captured from a distance shows the brief confrontation, after which Rice returned to the tee box smiling amid applause from spectators.
Rice finished 42nd in the 90-player celebrity field.
The incident marks another notable moment for Rice at the tournament. In 2024, he had a heated confrontation with Kansas City-based reporters who asked about the Chiefs’ wide receivers being good enough to win a Super Bowl. Rice interpreted the question as a slight toward the San Francisco 49ers and responded intensely, telling one reporter he would “f— you up” and challenging him further before being escorted away.
Fans online reacted to the latest viral clip by noting Rice’s enduring athleticism and competitive spirit, with some advising against provoking the NFL great.
The event featured numerous NFL stars, past and present, highlighting the tournament’s appeal as a mix of competition and entertainment.
