Micah Parsons does not understand why many have made a fuss over his recent comments about Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.
Speaking on his “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast on Monday, the Cowboys pass rusher refuted the notion that he ever threw McCarthy “under the bus.”
“I never once threw, or even intended to throw, Mike McCarthy under the bus,” Parsons said on his podcast, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “The question that was asked about here and the Dallas Cowboys. Did I see Mike McCarthy in our future? I said, ‘That’s above my pay grade.”

Parsons sparked controversy with how he answered a question about McCarthy following the Cowboys’ Sunday loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. When asked for his thoughts on McCarthy’s future in Dallas, Parsons deflected the question and instead expressed frustration for players like Zack Martin, who may have to end their playing careers on a losing note.
McCarthy was later asked about Parsons’ postgame comments. The veteran coach revealed that the two had had a conversation about the issue and “handled those things as men should.”
The 2024 season has gone horribly for the Cowboys thus far. If any remaining fans were holding out hope for a playoff run, Dak Prescott’s latest injury update probably changed that.
With the actual product on the field not worth talking about, the conversation around the Cowboys has seemingly shifted to postgame comments and AT&T Stadium sunlight issues.
