Jerry Jones reveals whether Dak Prescott will play again this season
Dak Prescott met with several doctors to discuss options after he suffered a hamstring injury earlier this month, and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback has reached a decision.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan that Prescott will undergo surgery this week to repair a partially torn hamstring. That means Dak will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.
“His prognosis is wonderful. It just means we’re not going to have him for the rest of the year,” Jones said.

Prescott was reportedly determined to pursue all other options before settling on season-ending surgery.
The Cowboys fell to 3-6 with their blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Even if there was a scenario where Prescott could have played again this season, it does not make sense for him to risk anything. Dallas was already fading from postseason contention prior to the quarterback getting hurt in Week 9.
Cooper Rush started for the Cowboys on Sunday and went 13/23 for just 45 yards. He was replaced by Trey Lance late in the game. There is a chance Lance could start when the Cowboys host the Houston Texans in Week 11, especially if Jones has any influence over the decision.
