Fans were quick to pile on the Cleveland Browns once news of Myles Garrett’s trade request went public.
On Monday, the Browns’ All-Pro defensive end took to social media to express his desire to land with a contender.
Several fans shared a similar reaction to the news. The overarching sentiment was that Garrett’s ask serves as the coup de grace for the Browns’ implosion in recent years.
Many pointed out how Browns GM Andrew Berry, who arrived in 2020, wasted a roster headlined by Garrett alongside fellow Pro Bowlers Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, Joel Bitonio, and Baker Mayfield.
Berry/Stefanski walked into Cleveland w/a starting QB, Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb and Denzel and turned it into 1 playoff win, a .476 winning &, the worst trade in NFL history plus no QB, no elite RB & Myles Garrett requesting a trade

Browns front office squandered the primes of Garrett, Chubb, Bitonio, Ward and Teller.
Some of the best rosters of our lives led to one playoff win.

The Cleveland Browns have single-handedly ruined 3 different careers since they signed Deshaun Watson. Nick Chubb, Joel Bitonio and Denzel Ward. Now Myles wants out and I dont blame him. I’m sorry Cleveland could give you a Super Bowl. I’m sorry they only cared about themselves. https://t.co/fe0PE5OluR

The Browns had their infamous 0-16 season during Garrett’s rookie campaign. Garrett’s rise to superstardom helped lift Cleveland from a completely hopeless team to one with some semblance of a promising future.
Since his rookie year, Garrett has racked up at least 10.0 sacks in every season. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and four first-team All-Pro nods.
One team has emerged as the favorite to land Garrett, who has two years remaining on his current contract with the Browns.
