No cause of death was announced.
Taylor was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick in the 1964 NFL Draft. He was named to the Pro Bowl eight times and led the NFL in receptions in 1966 and 1967. Taylor was the NFL’s all-time leader in receptions with 649 when he retired in 1977, but that record has since been broken.
Taylor helped Washington reach its first Super Bowl in 1972. He also served as a wide receivers coach for the team from 1981-1993.
