The Houston Texans got at least a little bit of good news as quarterback Deshaun Watson underwent surgery to repair his ACL tear on Wednesday.
A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that, during the operation, no further damage was found in the injured right knee.
Watson’s rehabilitation process will begin now, with his initial timeline for a return being set around eight to nine months. He did, however, return within five months of tearing his left ACL while in college at Clemson.
Watson tore the ACL during practice last week — though there is some reason to believe that, at the very least, the seeds of that injury had already been planted during the team’s Week 8 loss to Seattle.
