Oddsmaker considers Jason Garrett the favorite to be first coach fired
Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is sitting on the hottest seat in the NFL, at least according to one oddsmaker.
BetDSI Sportsbook released a new set of odds on the first head coach to be fired, and Garrett leads the field at +350. Dirk Koetter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is next at +500, while Bill O’Brien of the Texans and Vance Joseph of the Broncos are tied for third at +750.
Garrett’s position seemed to weaken significantly after Sunday’s overtime loss to the Houston Texans, when his overtime decisionmaking was widely criticized, including by owner Jerry Jones.
Jones has constantly reiterated that Garrett’s job is safe, and indeed, he has had remarkable longevity as Cowboys coach. Dallas, though, now sits at 2-3, and the offense under Garrett looks like it’s regressed.
