Odell Beckham Jr admits he is not fully recovered from hip injury
Odell Beckham Jr is not listed on the injury report and is expected to make his Cleveland Browns debut on Sunday, but the star wide receiver may have to play at less than 100 percent health.
Beckham missed some of training camp while he battled what was described as a minor hip injury, but he resumed practicing last week and was declared “good to go” for Week 1 by head coach Freddie Kitchens. However, OBJ admitted on Thursday that the ailment has prevented him from running full speed.
“It’s like an extremely fast car with the alignment off,” Beckham said, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “The car can still go, but it’s dangerous.”
Beckham added that he believes adrenaline will take care of any limitations he has had when the regular season gets underway, but that is at least somewhat concerning.
Beckham has missed several games over the past two seasons due to injuries, though some believe he was embellishing toward the end of his tenure with the New York Giants and not actually hurt. While he doesn’t seem concerned about his hip injury, the fact that he admits he is still feeling some effects of it is worth monitoring.
