The New York Giants have decided they do not want Odell Beckham Jr. to be a part of their future, but the star wide receiver has no hard feelings toward the organization.

On Thursday, Beckham posted a lengthy farewell message to the Giants on Instagram. He thanked everyone from the owners to the kitchen staff at the team’s facility.

It looked like Beckham would be with the Giants for many years to come after they signed him to a massive contract extension last offseason, and the trade seems to have genuinely caught him off guard. That could have to do with some of the comments Giants GM Dave Gettleman made throughout the offseason, but that’s how life in the NFL goes.

The Giants appear to be entering a rebuilding stage, while the Cleveland Browns suddenly look like a playoff contender and the favorite to win the AFC North. Beckham has plenty of reasons to be excited.
