OJ Howard, Cameron Brate could be trade candidates
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have several talented tight ends on their roster following the addition of Rob Gronkowski, making it seem like they could trade some of their other players at the position. Tampa Bay also has OJ Howard and Cameron Brate, who seem like trade candidates.
Howard, 25, was a first-round pick by the Bucs in 2017. He caught 11 touchdowns over his first two seasons with the Bucs but only had one touchdown in 14 games last season. He seemed to not really be a great fit with new head coach Bruce Arians.
Howard seems like he could be traded before Brate, considering as of last week a report identified him as a trade candidate.
Brate, 28, has been with Tampa Bay since 2014 and has 27 career touchdown catches, including 20 from 2016-2018. He is entering the third of a six-year, $40.8 million contract he signed with the Bucs in 2014.
Based on all the signs and the contract Brate is under, Howard seems like the more likely player to be dealt. He could be a very productive player in a different system and would likely be coveted.
