Orlando Scandrick on Cowboys releasing him: ‘They gave up on me’
Orlando Scandrick spent the first 10 years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, and it sounds like the defensive back is a little bitter over the way his tenure with the team ended.
Scandrick, who signed a two-year deal with the division rival Washington Redskins, told reporters on Tuesday that he feels the Cowboys “gave up on me.”
New #Redskins CB Orlando Scandrick: Whenever you get released, theres a part of you that feels like they gave up on you. Whether they gave up on me or not, in my mind, they gave up on me. I feel like Ive got a lot of football to play and … am going to continue to be productive.

Ironically, Scandrick actually asked for his release from the Cowboys and they granted his request. However, he likely knew they were planning on cutting him.
Wait: didn't Scandrick ask the Cowboys to release him? https://t.co/1ln7G3zJoO

Scandrick will almost certainly be playing with a little added motivation when he faces Dallas next season, which will be twice assuming he’s healthy. While no 31-year-old player should be surprised when his team decides to go in another direction, Redskins fans should want Scandrick to take the divorce personally.
