OVO Ryan: Johnny Manziel is ‘working out all the time,’ planning comeback
Johnny Manziel has looked horrible in some recent photos that surfaced of him and appears nowhere near being ready to play in the NFL again, but one of his close friends claims the quarterback is getting there.
Ryan Silverstein, the cousin of rapper Drake and a close friend of Manziel, told TMZ this week that Manziel has been “working out all the time” and getting ready for an NFL return.
“He’s doing a comeback on his own,” Silverstein said. “He’s one of the best guys I’ve ever met. Good heart, good kid, good family. It just sucks that he’s very vulnerable and everyone attacks him for his vulnerability. He’s an easy target.”
Silverstein, who is better known by his nickname OVO Ryan, said Manziel is treated unfairly by the media.
“He’s working out all the time,” Silverstein said. “He’s getting his life together.”
Many of Manziel’s people want us to believe the 23-year-old is straightening out his act. Earlier this month, Manziel’s attorney said the former Cleveland Browns QB is getting ready to play football again and wants to play in 2016.
On the flip side, however, are friends who are reportedly worried that Manziel has a drug problem. One friend said the situation involving Manziel is a “crisis,” and that jives with what Manziel’s own father said about him a few months back.
It’s highly unlikely that any NFL team will sign Manziel this offseason. In fact, the chances of him ever playing in the NFL again are starting to look slim.
