Kellen Moore has hired a familiar face to work under him with the New Orleans Saints.
Scott Tolzien has been named the new quarterbacks coach of the Saints, according to multiple reports.
Tolzien, who is a former NFL quarterback like Moore, has been an assistant with the Dallas Cowboys for the past five seasons. He and Moore worked together in Dallas when Moore was the team’s offensive coordinator.

The 37-year-old Tolzien spent seven seasons in the NFL as a backup quarterback. He was best known for playing behind Andrew Luck with the Indianapolis Colts and Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers.
Moore is now the youngest head coach in the NFL at age 36. He seems to be surrounding himself with youth and experience in his first season in New Orleans. Moore is reportedly eyeing a young former NFL head coach as a potential defensive coordinator as well.
Derek Carr is entering his third season as the Saints’ starting quarterback and will be working closely with Tolzien and Moore, assuming Carr remains in New Orleans. That could potentially create some awkwardness for the four-time Pro Bowl QB.
