Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has identified one specific issue he wants to work on with Jordan Love.
LaFleur’s Packers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 22-10 on Sunday in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Love went 20/33 for 212 yards with no touchdowns and 3 interceptions. It was the 26-year-old’s worst game of the season.
On Tuesday, LaFleur spoke with the media and said that footwork is an area where Love needs to improve.

Matt LaFleur said he talked with Jordan Love about inconsistency in his footwork this season, which he said was evident especially against the Eagles.

In addition to footwork, LaFleur wants Love to become more of a vocal leader. The 45-year-old head coach believes Love has the respect of his teammates, and the room to become more vocal.
Though Love played poorly in the postseason this year, LaFleur is still excited about where the 26-year-old’s quarterback is heading.
“I think he is an ascending player who is going to get better and better and better. He approaches the game the right way,” LaFleur said of Love.
Love passed for 3,389 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. His touchdown passes were lower than the 32 he had last season, while he threw just as many interceptions. But Love was only sacked 14 times this season, which is down from the 30 he took in 2023, which was his first year as a starter. Green Bay also improved by two wins and went 11-6 this season compared to 9-8 last season. It seems like the Packers are in a good place overall, and that Love has room to continue improving.
