Patrick Mahomes shared one issue about the NFL Scouting Combine over Twitter on Thursday.
The combine is ongoing in Indianapolis, and one aspect of the event stood out immediately: a bunch of players were posting crazy fast 40-yard dash times.
Tyquan Thornton set the new combine record in the 40 with a 4.21 time. Several other players posted sub-4.4 40s.
At the time of this article being published, 12 players had run sub-4.40 40-yard dashes. That is a crazy amount.
Mahomes took note and joked that Indianapolis must have switched the turf in order to create so many fast times.

It’s hard not to feel like Mahomes might be on to something in wondering what has led to all these fast times.
Last year there were 16 total players with sub-4.40 40s. This year there are already 12, and that’s without defensive backs running yet. How many will there be this year, over 20?
NFL Network had some fun with Mahomes by showing his 40 time in comparison with some other fast quarterbacks.
