The Cincinnati Bengals team and fanbase all held their breath on Tuesday when star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase limped off the field with trainers after suffering an injury.
After practice, Chase eased everyone’s concerns by saying he was “fine” and that it was a “freak accident.”

Chase also said that he was “trying to get back in” for practice, but the team decided to hold him out.
Injury expert David J. Chao posted the video of the play on X, and he said he won’t rest easy just yet until there are more firm tests.

Chase is coming off another monster year. In 2025, he caught 125 passes for 1,412 yards and 8 touchdowns, which had him just three catches away from setting a career-high.
The Bengals face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Cincinnati for Week 1 of the regular season, and Chase’s status will be one to monitor over the next couple of weeks.
