Danny Amendola could end up back in a familiar spot.
Amendola was released by the Miami Dolphins on Friday in a cap-saving move. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe said at the time that Amendola had interest in a return to the Patriots. On Sunday, Howe said the interest was mutual.
There’s mutual interest between Danny Amendola and the Patriots, per sources. We’ll see if it amounts to a reunion or not, but the possibility exists.

Amendola, 33, spent last season with the Dolphins, catching 59 passes for 575 yards and a touchdown. He was with the Patriots the five prior seasons, catching 230 passes for 2,383 yards and 12 touchdowns.
New England could use Amendola if the price is right. Julian Edelman is the top receiver they have under contract for 2019, and they’re still waiting on a decision from Rob Gronkowski, who seems likely to return.
