Pernell McPhee gets in Jay Cutler’s face after interception (Video)
Jay Cutler did some Jay Cutler things before he left Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a hand injury, and fellow team captain Pernell McPhee did not seem pleased with his quarterback’s performance.
McPhee, who began the season on the physically unable to perform list because of a knee injury, was seen shouting in Cutler’s face on the sideline after Cutler threw an interception late in the third quarter.

Some speculated that McPhee was simply trying to pump Cutler up, but Cutler didn’t make it seem that way while speaking to reporters after the game.
“I’m fine with that,” he said of the linebacker confronting him, via Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times. “He’s a passionate guy. Everyone’s got a lot invested into this, and he does as well. No one likes to lose. No one likes to lose in that type of fashion. He’s upset. I’m upset. Everyone is upset in that locker room right now. But the good thing is that we’ve got a bunch of good guys in there. We’ve got a bunch of good coaches, and we’ve 14 games left.”
The interception gave Philly the ball at the Chicago 2-yard line, and the Eagles punched it in to increase their lead to 22-7. They went on to win 29-14.
Cutler didn’t return to the game after throwing the pick, and some comments he made indicate he has more to worry about than being called out by teammates.
