Pete Carroll did not coach in the NFL this season, but he seems like a legitimate candidate to get a job during this hiring cycle.
Carroll interviewed with the Chicago Bears last week for their head coach vacancy. Carroll also landed an interview with the Las Vegas Raiders and spent time at the team’s facility earlier this week interviewing with them.
Not only that, but ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler mentions that the Dallas Cowboys could also have interest in the veteran coach.

Pete Carroll spent most of Monday afternoon at #Raiders headquarters interviewing for the head coaching job, per sources. The Super Bowl winning coach also has spoken to Bears and certainly could be on the Cowboys' radar.

Just how serious of a candidate is Carroll for these jobs? SportsBetting.ag has the odds listed for who will become the next head coach for each of the five teams with vacancies. Carroll is listed as having realistic odds for two of those teams.
Pete Carroll is the third favorite on the list to become the Raiders’ head coach. He is listed at 2-1 odds, which is tied with Deion Sanders and behind Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Carroll is also the third favorite on the list to become the next Bears coach. He is listed at 4-1 odds, which is behind Johnson and Mike McCarthy. Sanders (Cowboys), Johnson (Raiders and Bears) and McCarthy (Saints) are the No. 1 favorites for various jobs. If they all get hired as the odds suggest, that could leave one spot open for Carroll.
The 73-year-old Carroll has won championships at both the college and NFL levels. In the NFL, he has been the head coach for the New York Jets, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. In college, Carroll had a wildly successful tenure as the head coach at USC.
