Bill Belichick embraced a part-time role on ESPN’s ManningCast with Peyton and Eli Manning in 2024, and kept doing it even after taking the head coaching job at North Carolina. That, however, was likely a temporary arrangement.
During an interview with 97.1 The Ticket’s Anthony Rothman at the Memorial Tournament Celebrity Pro-Am, Peyton Manning was asked if there was any chance Belichick might continue to appear on the ManningCast on Monday nights. Manning ruled out the chances of Belichick continuing his regular role during Monday night games in 2025, and said the show will likely return to a rotating panel of guests as it has done in the past.
“Obviously, he seems busy right now coaching college football, so he won’t be back this year,” Manning said. “He’ll be hard to replace. I thought his insight was great. We’ll try to go back to rotating guests and having coaches and players, but also the actors and musicians.”
Belichick had a weekly role on the ManningCast last season while he was away from coaching. He even continued it into the playoffs, even though he had officially accepted his new role with North Carolina by that point.
Perhaps Belichick might have a role waiting for him if, for whatever reason, he winds up not coaching the Tar Heels. His low buyout figure will keep fueling those rumors.
