This is the price Peyton Manning pays for trying to be a tough guy.
Manning tried to throw a block on a running play late in the second quarter of Denver’s game against San Diego on Sunday. It’s unclear whether he was hurt on the play, but Manning headed to the locker room immediately afterwards and CBS later said he had a thigh injury.
Backup Brock Osweiler then entered the game for the Broncos as Manning was receiving treatment in the locker room.
Some speculated that Manning just went into the locker room to receive an IV because he was sick all week, but the network confirmed the thigh injury.
Manning had to have been hurt, because the team would have wanted him in there for a 4th-and-goal situation.

The only good news is at least this time we didn’t have to see a disappointed Osweiler because he finally got into the game.
