Philip Rivers zings Raiders fans over losing twice to Chargers

Philip Rivers

The Los Angeles Chargers have heard talk all season long about visiting fans taking over the StubHub Center during their “home” games, but Philip Rivers had a great comeback for the latest addition to the narrative.

As expected, there were quite a few Oakland Raiders in L.A. on Sunday to watch their team’s final game of 2017. But Rivers wasn’t bothered by their presence, and he explained why on Monday.

“It may have been a little more than I thought it would be, but shoot, they got to watch them get beat twice,” the quarterback said, per Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Rivers completed 28 of 37 passes for 387 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in a dominating 30-10 win over the Raiders. He was slightly less impressive in the Chargers’ 17-16 win over Oakland earlier in the season, but 2-0 is 2-0.

Several players took shots at the Chargers over their lack of fan support during home games this season, but it didn’t seem to affect the team all that much. After an ugly 0-4 start, L.A. went on a run and nearly made the playoffs. They don’t have much to be embarrassed about heading into the offseason.
