QB Paxton Lynch expected to make Broncos’ roster
Paxton Lynch is expected to make the Denver Broncos’ roster despite falling to third-string on the team’s depth chart.
With the deadline to submit 53-player rosters only hours away, both 9News’ Mike Klis and ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that Lynch was expected to make Denver’s roster.
Broncos will look at waiver wire, but Paxton Lynch will be on 53 as of 2 p.m. Saturday. Best No. 3 QB in the league. Better than any other prospect who's released. Better than veteran QB who would have to learn new system. #9sports

Broncos are expected to keep QB Paxton Lynch, despite any of his struggles this summer, per source. Lynch now expected to head into season on Broncos' 53-man roster.

Lynch struggled early in the preseason while being outshined by Chad Kelly, leading to a depth chart shakeup. The former first-round pick was 14/29 for just 102 yards and an interception through his first three preseason games. But he went 14/15 for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth preseason game to potentially convince the Broncos to keep him around.
A first-round pick in 2016, GM John Elway would probably have a tough time simply parting ways with Lynch so early in his career.
