Raiders to make a run at Le’Veon Bell if he becomes free agent?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the option of franchise tagging Le’Veon Bell for a second straight season and paying him more than $14 million, but there’s a chance they will allow the star running back to test free agency. And if they do, Bell will have no shortage of suitors.
When asked how he envisions the Bell situation playing out this offseason, Peter King of Sports Illustrated predicted that the 25-year-old will become a free agent. He says the Oakland Raiders will be a team to watch if that happens.
I’d guess he becomes a free agent and goes to highest bidder. Watch for Oakland. https://t.co/aGwXrtTISj

Jon Gruden is an offensive minded coach who would love to have a well-balanced attack, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he pursued Bell. Gruden is expected to elevate Derek Carr’s game, and signing one of the most versatile running backs in football would certainly help him accomplish that task.
Based on what he said this week about playing for Gruden, Carr sounds like he is ready to work harder than he ever has in his career. Having a teammate like Bell would make things a bit easier.
