A couple of the Los Angeles Rams’ top defensive players say they have a lot of respect for Philip Rivers, not just as a player, but more importantly, as a trash-talker.
The Rams will host the Chargers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday in a battle of teams that now share the same city. Ahead of the Week 3 contest, some of the Rams’ best defensive players shared how much they respect the Chargers veteran QB.
Both Marcus Peters and Ndamukong Suh said they respect Rivers, with Suh even acknowledging that Rivers got him out of his character.
Marcus Peters and Ndamukong Suh both say they “love” to play against Philip Rivers because he brings out their best. They both respect the Bolts QB’s trash-talk skills, too.
Suh: “I talk with my pads, but every now and then Philip has gotten me out of my character.”

The Rams enter the game 2-0 and have looked great this season, leading the league in scoring differential. The Chargers lost a tough Week 1 game to the Chiefs, but they rebounded with a win over Buffalo in Week 2.
The Rams’ defense has looked like one of the top units in the league thus far, so Rivers will have to up his trash talk in order to take some of the Rams defenders out of their game. That’s much easier said than done.
