Rashod Bateman has not always been thrilled with his situation in Baltimore, but the Ravens have now signed the former first-round pick to a new deal.

Bateman on Thursday agreed to a 3-year, $36.75 million contract extension with the Ravens, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The new deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money.

Bateman had previously signed a 2-year, $12.9 million extension with the Ravens in April 2024. That deal was signed before the team had to decide whether to pick up the fifth-year option on Bateman’s rookie contract.

The 27th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bateman has not lived up to expectations thus far in Baltimore. He did show signs of breaking out last year, however. Bateman caught 45 passes for 756 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2024. The yardage and scores were both career highs.

Bateman unloaded on Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta two years ago in a social media post that was quickly deleted. Some have labeled Bateman a bust, but the new contract proves that Baltimore still has faith in the 25-year-old.

The Ravens have been criticized for not being able to draft and develop wide receivers, but that narrative has shifted with 2023 first-round pick Zay Flowers emerging as a legitimate No. 1 wideout. Bateman seems to be ascending as well, and he is now being paid accordingly.
