Redskins to hold virtual NFL Draft party for fans
NFL teams are getting creative as they try to keep connected with their fans during the coronavirus pandemic.
Though the NFL Draft is proceeding as scheduled in a virtual format, the draft parties that are usually a staple of the event won’t be happening due to rules and guidelines prohibiting mass gatherings. The Washington Redskins are the first team to seek out a way around this, announcing a virtual draft party that will feature the likes of coach Ron Rivera and quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
We are keeping the party going.. but we are going VIRTUAL. Join us LIVE from Thursday to Saturday for our 2020 Virtual Draft Experience presented by @7eleven.
April 23-25th. RSVP here— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) April 6, 2020
The event is essentially a live stream, which is the best anyone can do right now with teams literally working from home. The effort is worth being applauded, since some fans are definitely going to miss the usual trappings of the draft process.
